greetings friends

Let’s get handy!

Today’s lesson is a quick and easy tutorial on how to install interior door handles. Whenever I used to dream about redoing any area in my house, I would find myself stressed over the potential costs of updating. The truth is that you can upgrade for very little money and time! With just some paint and a great choice in hardware, I was able to transform all of the doors in my house and now they look clean and modern.

P.S. Using the screw gun can be quite fun too!

Follow the below steps and you will find your confidence growing in a matter of minutes.

2. Latch on

Using the images here and/or those in the instructions accompanying your hardware, assemble the faceplate and latch bolt, then screw into place.

(Yes, my fingers were not camera-ready due to another project I had going (black caulking) but a girl’s gotta do what a girl’s gotta do!)

3. ONE AT A TIME

This particular door lever is for “privacy” meaning it has a lock. Determine from your pieces which lever should be on the outside of the room. Then align the long post inside the hole of the lever to fit through thee latch bolt in the door

4. WHEN TWO BECOME ONE

Fit the other lever into place, making sure the lock button is located beneath the lever (for applicable handle sets).

5. Time to screw

Slip your screws inside of the holes on the inside of the lever and power up your screw gun.

Tip: It may be necessary to loosen and tighten the screws in order to making any adjustments to placement or door handle turning properly.

6. STRIKE A POSE

If you are replacing old hardware, you will have an existing hole carved in the door jam. Set the strike over this hole and screw in place.

TADA!
